One Nation One Election is a revolutionary step in the interest of the country – CM Dhami
The Chief Minister said that everyone will have to show unity for one nation one election
Everything is possible in the interest of the country under the leadership of PM Modi
Strongly expressing his views on One Nation One Election, CM Dhami said that One Nation-One Election is not just an administrative reform, but an important initiative towards making the country’s democracy more empowered, effective and inclusive. This is a revolutionary step in the interest of the country. Elections are a festival of democracy in a huge democratic country like India, but when elections are held every year, sometimes in this state, sometimes in that state, then this process becomes a burden. He said that due to repeated imposition of code of conduct, development work comes to a standstill and the economy is negatively affected.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that due to repeated elections, there is wastage of resources at every level during the election process and there is a negative impact on the government treasury. The Chief Minister clarified that during elections, a large number of teachers of the state, officers of various departments, police force and central force personnel have to be removed from their original work and put on election duty, which has a negative impact on their original work. Everyone will have to show unity regarding one nation one election.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami was addressing the Prabuddh Jan Sammelan organized by Swarnim Devbhoomi Foundation on the topic One Nation-One Election in the Survey of India Department Auditorium, Dehradun.
Welcoming National Incharge of One Nation One Election Shri Sunil Bansal who came to Uttarakhand on this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the tenure of about 11 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has been full of historic achievements. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, in the last decade, while on the one hand new paradigms of development and economic progress were established in the country, on the other hand, through many historic decisions, India’s democracy got even stronger. Whether it is the implementation of GST, abolition of triple talaq, abolition of Article 370 from Kashmir, making the CAA-NRC law, passing the Nari Shakti Vandan Act or implementing the Indian Judicial Code, Indian Civil Defense Code and Indian Evidence Act. All these historic decisions have given a new direction to India.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, work is being done towards making a historic law in the form of One Nation-One Election. According to the report of NITI Aayog, if elections are held at one time, then up to Rs 12 thousand crore will be saved. This amount of thousands of crores can be used to strengthen education, health and infrastructure in the country. Along with this, if there is better coordination between the central and state governments, then all the work will be completed on time.
The Chief Minister said that by holding elections at one time, there will be an increase in voting turnout, because many people who live in other states hesitate to go to their home state again and again to vote, but when elections of all three levels are held simultaneously, they will definitely go to vote. Now the time has come to re-establish this balance with the help of modern technology, transparency of the Election Commission and the cooperation of the public. The Chief Minister said that when countries like America, Japan, Brazil and Sweden can have simultaneous elections, then can’t this system be implemented in the world’s largest democratic country like India? When we have a determined pradhan sevak like the respected Prime Minister Shri Modi Ji, then it is not possible that any work in the interest of the country stops. The draft prepared under the guidance of the Prime Minister and presented in the Lok Sabha has been prepared after very deep research and analysis. In this draft, every situation has been taken care of as to how this system is to be implemented in all the states and after implementation, if the government of any state is dissolved in between, then how will the elections be held in that situation. Currently, this law has been sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee for extensive discussion, the Chief Minister said that he is confident that one day this system of One Nation-One Election will definitely be implemented in India and this law will prove to be helpful in strengthening democracy in India.
